“With all the hoopla surrounding the millennium, we, like so many others with limited budgets but an appetite for adventure, decided to make a small trek to our local library to find out what our own town had in store for the big event.
Instead of spending a lot of $$$ on airfare and being freaked out with driving conditions and the other maniacs that will be on the road at that time, we will stay right here and enjoy what our town has to offer a “tourist.”
Not only will we learn what it’s like to be one, but we’ll appreciate what we have here, outside our back door.
Even if folks want to venture 10 miles to the nearest hotel, it’ll be fun experiencing midnight somewhere different, with a new outlook on their own surroundings for the New Year!
