Higher and higher in the sky, my relationship with my dad started to form.

Since I was a little girl my dad has never been home a lot, this is due to the fact that he owns a big business and is always traveling. Three summers ago when i was 13 my dad decided to take me on a father daughter trip to New Mexico. At first i was hesitant to say yes but my mom told me i should go. When we arrived I thought he was going to leave me with a nanny as he went off with some big head guys of the company however, I was proven wrong. After leaving best western on Rio Grande Blvd we headed to High Flyers Hot Air Balloon ride. I couldn't believe i was doing this especially with my dad. We took off as the sun was coming up; i was so scared. I held on to my dad so tightly and i will never forget what he said to me. "Don't worry Kate, I am always here for you." After five minutes or so i started to ease up. I could see for miles over the mountains as me and my dad caught up on the last few years of my life. The little houses below us made me realize that the world is so big. I was always focused on myself and how I never had a dad. As i continued higher in the air it finally hit me just how big the world is. God created everything for us to enjoy. Now as a 16 year old my father and I are very close. I can trust him with everything and i know he loves me deeply.

If it wasn't for this trip I would have believed that my dad honestly didn't care about me, only his business. I learned that he will love me forever no matter what. It only took a hot air balloon ride and a sunset to find this out.
