It was a rather warm summer morning here in Fresno, as I stepped onto my dad's truck. It was around 6:00 am, and my father seemed extremely tired. I could see the countless sleepless hours in his eyes due to his two jobs, and his flu, that he recently contracted. Nonetheless, my father drove me to school, so I can board the charter bus to Monterrey. I was a little frightful of missing the bus, as we were running a little late, but I made just in time.

As the bus slowly departed from the school, I had a mixture of emotions running through my mind. I was excited to see, a city I have never seen before, but was also worried that my shyness would not let me fully enjoy the city. I quickly let go of my timidity, and started talking to my friend on the bus. It was a long ride, and I decided not to go to sleep, and enjoy the views. I saw hill so green, that it was almost unrealistic. There was also countless birds flying over a beautiful ocean.

After about three hours, we finally arrived at our destination. I stepped out, and noticed the rather chilly weather, so I quickly put on my jacket. It was a great relief from Fresno's dry weather. We walked around the various shops at canary row. I quickly realized my biggest mistake, and that was that I did not bring enough money.

After looking through countless shops, we all decided to go to the beach. As we arrived, we saw huge brown rocks everywhere. We started climbing, and saw a small cave like entrance, and wondered how great it would be to live in the beach. We later climbed the rocks, which was a great surprise for me, because of my huge fear of heights. After a while we later returned back to the beach.

Most of my friends quickly started taking of their shoes and going into the water. My female companions were by the shore, running away from the waves as they slowly retracted back to their feet. I was a little skeptical of taking off my shoes, but I later did and then began to roll up my rather tight jeans.

It was an amazing feeling, stepping on the warm sandy beach. The temperature had slowly risen, since we got their and it felt great. I ran through the cold salty water with my bare feet. I remember getting splashed on several times with water, and tasting the salty water. We later left to get the best ice cream ever. My tongue was greatly enjoying the delicious cookie dough ice cream, that I bought. We later had to walk back to the bus, and go back home. I will always remember my great trip to the city of Monterrey.
