Texas by plane, Florida by car. - My Family Travels

Traveling is a great experience; it is a way to get outside of the town you are used to and see new things. I love to travel just as much as anyone else; especially to Navarre Beach, Florida. I know, going to a beach is not original; but I love the memories I have made there and every time I go back I enjoy myself and make more and more amazing memories. Last year, in July of  2011, I had more fun than ever before.

My grandparents own a condo on Navarre Beach – I have taken friends there before, but only when I was younger and our friendship was not as strong. Last year I took my best friend of five years, Bailey; I had been waiting years to be able to take her to the place I love so much and I was excited for the chance to finally be able to do that. We started our trip with a flight down to my grandparents' home in San Antonio, Texas. I love flying and it is always even more fun with friends. We stayed in Texas for one night before starting our thirteen hour drive to Navarre. Road trips can either be the most boring thing a person can do, or it can be really fun. Being with Bailey, made the trip fast and fun. I did not sleep for even a minute during the entire trip, and I still managed not to get bored. Bailey and I love road trips, we laughed just about the entire trip. That was definitely the best road trip I have been on.

We arrived at the condo around eight o'clock and went straight to the pool. We got there on a day when most people were packing up to leave in the next day or two; so we waited patiently for the new families to arrive. Once they did, we began meeting people and making new friends – this is always my favorite part of the trip. We formed a group with a couple other families that we spent the majority of our trip with. The fact that this group just happened to have all boys besides Bailey and I only made it better. Every day started out with tanning — our tanning time was meant for just the two of us; once that time was up, though, our group would form. Most days were spent in the pool, playing games and just hanging out. After we all ate dinner with our own families at night, we would meet on the beach. We would spend hours walking and talking. Eventually we would get tired and claim our spot in the sand or on a dock. These nights were the best; our group was so random, yet extremely fun. Even though we were all strangers to eachother, we clicked right away – these people began to feel like old friends. After a week, though, it was all over.

All of our friends, including us, left on the same day. It was sad knowing we would most likely never see eachother again and it would be rare for us to ever speak to eachother again; but we all cherished the memories we made together. Friendships end but memories and the happiness you felt while you were with those friends can be cherished forever. Bailey and I headed back to Texas to finish our trip in my grandma's pool relaxing and talking about every detail of our trip until we could talk no more. This may not be an original trip, but it was an amazing one. I will never forget how much fun I had and I would not change a single part of my trip to Navarre in the summer of 2011.

Absolutely love this list of Mardi Gras celebrations outside New Orleans! Each destination seems to offer its own unique blend of culture, music, and vibrant festivities. While I’m tempted to explore them all, I can’t help but dream of experiencing the colorful chaos of Mardi Gras in Goa, India. Exploring India’s rich cultural tapestry during this festive season would undoubtedly be an unforgettable adventure. Thanks for inspiring wanderlust with these fantastic recommendations!
