Have you ever wanted to go to a different country, but didn’t quite know what to do or how to plan it? Planning a trip across the sea is one of the most exciting things to do. From booking hotels to finding the perfect spots to visit, you can make your vacation the best that it can be. How do you know where to go or what sites you need to see? Travel books and travel blogs will now be your new best friends.
My family has always had a desire to travel, so when the opportunity occurred for us to fly out to the beautiful country of Croatia, of course we couldn’t say no. Due to the short notice, finding a hotel was quite the challenge. Along with that, we went at one of the busiest and hottest times, in the middle of July. With that said I suggest booking your hotels and flights much in advance and aim to travel in early June to avoid the extreme heat.
We found a nice apartment in Cavtat, Croatia, which was far away from all the tourist sites and hotels. My family enjoys getting to the center of the country and not just all the tourist attractions. Cavtat was the perfect place to see what the country was truly about and to get to know the locals. However, we did enjoy a nice walk up and down the beach shore which was covered in little shops and party bars. The nice thing about reading through travel books and blogs is that you can choose what kind of experience you want to have and even which airline you should take. (I definitely recommend flying with Lufthansa Airline) If you enjoy the high speed, crowded tourist areas then I recommend booking your stay at a well-known hotel right in the center of Cavtat or Dubrovnik. However, if you enjoy just a nice peaceful visit while getting to know the true colors of the country, then try to stay away from the big tourist attractions. Either way, the experience will stay with you forever.
Well, enough about hotels and flights and more about the wonderful country. Croatia is a beautiful country. From its high mountains to the bluest waters of the Adriatic, it was needless to say, a true paradise. The most breathtaking city of Croatia is Dubrovnik. The city’s main street is made of pure marble. Why do people go to this great walled city? To walk along the wall that protects this ancient city. This is something everyone who visits Dubrovnik needs to do. The 2 km long wall is the best way to see the entire city all at once. Believe me, the view is something you wouldn’t want to miss. From the highest point of the wall you can overlook the uniform roofs of the houses and the bluest waters in the world, the Adriatic. As you enter the stairs to begin your climb up the wall, you are given the opportunity to have the audio tour. This is a must! A walk on the wall is peaceful; please remember to wear good walking shoes. The marble has been worn away in some spots and is very slippery.
Our eight day vacation was full of surprises and memories that will stay with us forever. From the long plane ride to the beautiful beaches that line the country, our experience was one to remember. This was our Croatian Vacation.

Wow, Fran Falkin’s pet travel tips are a lifesaver! ? Planning our pet-friendly vacation has been a breeze thanks to these insightful tips. We followed tip #2, and now our fur baby practically loves their carrier, making our journey stress-free. Yes, recent trends suggest that Americans are regaining confidence in vacations and travel. As travel restrictions ease and vaccination rates increase, many Americans are showing a greater willingness to travel and explore destinations again. Reading Fran Falkin’s insights took me back to my first trip with Whiskers, my feline companion. The chaos of ensuring he was comfortable amidst the hustle of the airport was a lesson in patience. Had I come across these invaluable tips earlier, our journey would’ve been as smooth as a calm sea.
