Day 1 – Tuesday

In the beginning, there was no fun in Arkansas. The weather was hot and the heat was unbearable. So a mother and her three children flew to Colorado using United Airlines to visit their uncle in Broomfield. There, they unpacked all of their belongings and slept to recuperate their energy – the first day.

Day 2 – Wednesday

On the second day, there was nothing much to do because their uncle went to work, so the children played on their laptops all day. When the uncle came home, he took the kids to Paul Derda Recreation Center where they went rock climbing and swimming. And the children saw that it was fun.

Day 3 – Thursday

Then, the family went hiking to Bear Lake and to Flat Top Mountain. However, they did not have enough time to hike all the way to the top, so after three quarters of the way up, they had to turn around. Although the hike was exhausting and they had to quit partway, the family still enjoyed the scenery- the third day.

Day 4 – Friday

The following day, the uncle took the mother and her three children to Mother Cabrini’s Shrine where they climbed 373 steps and passed the fourteen stations of the cross and fifteen mysteries of the rosary to reach the top of the hill. Afterwards, they went to climb Mount Evans, but due to construction, the mountain was closed. They were dismayed, of course, but all was not lost. They, instead, stopped by Echo Lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the day was saved- the fourth day.

Day 5 – Saturday

On the fifth day, they went rafting on the Arkansas River and got to float under the Royal Gorge Bridge. Although the rapids were not as rough as the previous years, the view there was no less spectacular. Later, they went all the way up to the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park, a 360 acre theme park. There, they saw bighorn sheep, deer, and bison. They crossed the Royal Gorge twice, once using the aerial tram and the other time using the Royal Gorge Bridge. They also had the opportunity to ride one of the world’s steepest incline railways and watch people ride the royal rush skycoaster, one of the world’s scariest rides. Afterwards, they went to Golden Corral to eat dinner. And the family saw that the food was great.

Day 6 – Sunday

Then, they went to the garden of gods, a place filled with marvelous rock structures, and it was beautiful. Afterwards, they rode the cog for an hour and twenty minutes all the way up to Pike’s Peak and took in the exquisite scenery.

Day 7 – Monday

The mother and her children looked back on all of the fun they had and saw that it was good. They flew back to Arkansas, back to Little Rock, back to their home. And there they rested- the seventh day.
