Hometown Haven - My Family Travels

Yearning to visit a small, personable town that could be described as a piece of history left in urban America? Hampstead, Maryland is your place! Now, by "piece of history", I mean in no way that Hampstead is a historical place. It is simply a refreshingly quaint town full of friendly people and farmland, much like that of older days.

Farmland, you say?! You heard right! It is a shock to see such a thing in a world centered around the hustle and bustle of city life. The open farmland in Hampstead is sure to instill a sense of nostalgia for the past. Surely, this would be the first thing tourists need to see when they visit Hampstead. This is mostly because you cannot get into Hampstead without seeing it!

You may ask: what else is there to see or do in such a small town like Hampstead? Well, we have a memorial for war veterans right along Main Street that shows our appreciation for those who left Hampstead to fight for the rights of those still here. Also, there are sure to be community events to attend such as our weekly farmers' market, annual fireman's carnival, or simply school-sponsored events that bring many members of our tight-knit community out to socialize. These events are he perfect opportunities for tourists to meet the most famous members of Hampstead. Everyone. In Hampstead, we are fortunate enough to know almost everyone in the town. Everyone is generally friendly and welcoming to new people.

Maybe one of the locals would invite a tourist out to eat at one of our local restaurants! To start the day, a visit to the Hampstead Diner is sure to fill you up with some delicious breakfast while you explore the town. However, when you inevitably get hungry once again, a trip to Greenmount Station will supply ant type of pub scrumptiousness you desire. When it is time for dinner, no one  beats the good ol' home cooking that Dean's supplies, starting with their delicious corn fritters. Nothing feels more like home than a stomach full of the delicious foods from some of the restaurants that only Hampstead provides.

Hampstead is a great place to spend a day, a weekend, a life!
