If you’re into Space and how Astronauts were able to go to the moon or the International Space Station, well Huntsville, Alabama just might be the place for you to visit. Located just off of Interstate 65 on I-565, the “Rocket City” has so many things to offer. The hardest part is deciding what to do first.

US Space and Rocket Center: Whether you’re a kid or an adult who wants to be a kid
The USSRC is located off of Interstate 565 at exit 15. Museum hours are 9-5 daily and admission is $25 for adults and $20 for children, with children under 5 free. The US Space and Rocket Center is one of the most comprehensive US Manned space flight hardware museums in the world. Facilities include a Spacedome Theater, Rocket Park, and an Education Center. There is a something for everyone of all ages.
Visitors will experience Huntsvilles role in making of the rocket that went to the moon, Apollos missions, and the Shuttle program, just to name a few. The center opened in 1970 and has had over 12 million visitors to date.
Space Camp, Adult Space Academy and Family Camp are just three camps that are provided for individuals from Grades 4 – 12 and/or ages 7 – 99. These camps provide 5 days of hands on training and educational activities. Shuttle missions will be successfully launched and landed while learning basic scientific principles. Space Camp is an adventure of a lifetime for everyone.
Come and be a part of an exciting adventure, where everyone can be an astronaut for a day or for a week.
Huntsville is known for their Southern Cuisine and Hospitality
Blue Plate Café is a quaint little café nestled in the heart of Huntsville on Governors Drive. Its known for its great Classic Southern cooking like your mother and grandmother use to make. But its more than just food here, the smiles and laughter are what make this place so special. Price is very reasonable but get there early or you might have a wait, but it will be worth it.
Pane e Vino is a hidden pizzeria treasure under the Huntsville Museum of Art on Church St. Come and taste a bit of Italy while you sit on the patio and watch the ducks and water in Big Spring Park. It is a relaxing place that even the kids will love. Try the Caprese salad and pizza but my favorite is the Chicken Alfredo. Mr. Food would have to say, “Ooh, It’s so Good!!”
One Stop Shop: Eating, Shopping, Movies, Hotel
The Bridge Street Town Centre has a good variety of shops for teenagers to mom and dad. And for those who don’t like to shop, they have a theater and even music playing throughout the Centre. The kids will love the mini train that runs throughout the walkways. Eating places are not hard to find, you’ll find something on every corner throughout. And if you find yourself tired, retire back at your hotel at The Westin. This beautiful hotel overlooks Bridge Street. There truly is something for everyone here.
