The Sunshine State is where I live. Most people come to vacation here, but it’s also a great place to live. I live in Clearwater, which is part of the famous Tampa Bay area. There are so many things to do in the Tampa Bay area. Even though it might not always live up the its nickname, Florida has many things to do when the sun isn’t shining.
Florida is famous for its sunshine and of course, beautiful beaches. Clearwater Beach or Indian Rocks Beach would be the first place tourist love to visit. Indian Rock is more secluded, while Clearwater has many shops and night life. There are so many restaurants to choose from that are right on the beach, along with hotels and houses or condos to rent.
If you love sports, Tampa Bay has many sports team. The Buccaneers is the NFL team, y at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa; it’s outdoors and some concerts are also held here. The NHL team and arena football team, the Lightning (NHL) and Storm (AFL) play at the Tampa Bay Times Forum, named after the famous Tampa Bay Time Newspaper; concerts, the circus, ect. are also held here. Tropicana Field, yes, like Florida’s famous orange juice, is where our MLB team plays, the Rays. Once a year, the Indy Car Series has their opening race in downtown St. Petersburg. Fans come from all over the world come to watch the world’s fastest drivers, like Helio Castroneves and Will Power, race on the streets of St. Pete. One of the teams is always in season, no matter what time of year people come to visit!
One famous restaurant that is in the Tampa Bay area is called the Colombian. The original was opened in 1905, in Ybor City, which is close to downtown Tampa. Since the first one was opened, six more have opened around Florida. The Colombian in Ybor is Florida’s oldest restaurant.
The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa is great for adults over 18 or 21 years old. It’s a beautiful hotel and casino in one; it’s run the Seminole Indians. There are many slot machines and other games like black jack to play. They have a food court and an exquisite restaurant, Council Oaks.
Families are attracted to Busch Gardens and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. They are both great for kids of any ages. Busch Garden is an amusement park that has rollercoasters, shows, and animals. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is now famous thanks to a special dolphin with a prosthetic tail, Winter. The movie, A Dolphin Tale, was very successful and had amazing actors such as Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd.
The Tampa Bay area is perfect for the old, young and middle aged! There are so many things to do, tourists always find something that interests them!
