A Memorable Trip To Bryce Canyon - My Family Travels

Travelling is a beautiful journey that leads to many experiences. Around the world people travel to take a break from their daily routines and explore their surroundings. They travel to learn about different cultures, make new friends, create delightful memories and most importantly it teaches us to appreciate our lives and this beautiful world that we are living in.

Since a young age I loved travelling with my family. I was lucky enough to visit many different countries throughout my life. Of all those wonderful places my last trip to Bryce Canyon was probably my most memorable trip. Bryce Canyon is a beautiful canyon that is located in the southwest of Utah. Bryce Canyon is often described as “forest of stone” because of its astonishing rocky scenery. Each year almost 1.5 million people goes to visit this canyon. Bryce Canyon is a spectacular series of more than a dozen amphitheaters. There are many different activities for tourists to participate in, such as, hiking, horseback riding, biking and etc.

I visited Bryce Canyon with my family and a group of friends last December and was fortunate enough to celebrate New Year’s Eve with them. I fell in love with the beautiful scenery and the natural view of the canyon as soon as I stepped out of my car. Seeing the red rocks among white snow and bright blue skies was a surreal experience. I was mesmerized by the scenery and felt like I could’ve stood there for hours just staring at the view. I insisted on hiking down the trail although I knew I wasn’t wearing proper hiking shoes, instead I wore fashionable boots to hike down the trail, which was by the way a horrible idea. After slipping and embarrassing myself numerous times we finally reached the bottom of the canyon. The phenomenal sight of the snow covered rocks was just jaw dropping. As we reached to the bottom of the canyon I remember having snowball fights with my friends and stood there in the snow talking for hours. That was a very special moment for me and I felt so grateful to have a wonderful family and such great friends by my side. Hiking back up the canyon was extremely tiring and exhausting. But once we got to the top we saw the sunset from the Bryce canyon sunset point and right there and then the whole experience felt worth it.

During that trip we stayed at a resort and that that whole night we had a Bar-B-Q party and we binged watched the whole first season of American Horror story with my friends. The trip ended with joy, laughter and happiness. We were all so happy and couldn’t wait for the next trip. Fast forward to May 7th, 2017. I woke up to the worst news. Something I never thought I would hear. My friend, Adib, passed away the night before in a car accident. I felt lost, confused and don’t have words to describe how I felt. I couldn’t come to my sense that he is no longer with us. Couldn’t believe that the last winter trip to Bryce Canyon was our last trip with him. Those snowball fights, the funny moments, and all those trip adventures will forever stay memorable. This experience made me realize that we don’t really know what lies ahead of us or what our future may lead us to. Our life is short and in this limited amount of time live, laugh, travel and make wonderful memories because at the end we all realize that these memories become treasures.
