The old world

Italy: Day 1
After the 8 hour long, tedious journey from Austria to Venice, Italy, I stood up and I felt as if gravity was pushing my body down. The buildings look as if they were houses made into skyscrapers. I walked across an ally and I couldn’t distinguish if the building was a hotel or an apartment. Our hotel was three blocks away from the beach.

As night fell our group was released from the hotel and we were set out to explore our nearby surroundings. The air felt warm along my skin. There was a slight breeze as I walked close to the beach. The sand around my toes felt warm. The sand was a clear tan and it was clean. I’ve never seen sand like that from California. I entered the water and it was timid. The tide was low. Returning back to the hotel, Italy won against England. Italians were shouting in great pride, “Viva Italia!” I joined in as well.

Music was playing around the street and a group of young Italians were singing and dancing, while drinking. There was a light show around the corner of the hotel. It drew me in the lights were vivid and bold. Blues, greens, and reds could be seen at the sky. It was a wonderful night in Italy.

London: Day 1
I arrived at Shino Park. A piano was there out in the open for people to play. A young lady came up and began to play; she played the piano as if there were two playing. She played with a mello tone. It began softly then some funk was added into it. The music vibrated the ground beneath me. I wanted to dance.

It was Canada day today. Everyone at the festival were probably not Canadians. A live band played. People with balloons with I love Canada were jumping up and down. Londoners sure know how to party. I entered the London Eye, it rose slowly but the city became alive. I could see the city’s traffic. I was surprise a rainbow flag was on a building. I like how open it was here; they accepted different types of people. I felt as if I could be myself here; I felt like I was part of their society.
