The Ultimate Twilight Hotel Experience in Forks, Washington - My Family Travels

Are you ready for a “Twilight” hotel in Forks, where you can experience the series and follow Bella Swan throughout her journey in western Washington? Forks remains a popular tourist destination where avid fans can witness the places that Bella and her friends traversed.

Be sure to carry your umbrella. Why? Because Forks is the rainiest place in the continental United States.

The rainy old town of Forks, Washington is located on the Olympic Peninsula. It’s right in the middle of one of the country’s top road trip itineraries, too, featuring Olympic Peninsula National Park.

Relatively small (population 3,335) despite its fame, Forks is surrounded by the beautiful Olympic Mountains and the Pacific Ocean.

Abundant salmon and steelhead trout populate the many miles of rivers that run through Forks. Thus, before the Twilight phenomenon swept the globe, Forks was mainly an attraction for nature-loving fishermen. It’s bordered by ocean shores to the north and west, and neighboring meadows and valleys to the south and east.

Fans of all ages flock to this northwest city in the ongoing Twilight fantasia. It’s the best place to delve into the world of Bella, Edward, and Jacob. Many Forks businesses have incorporated Twilight-themed goods into their repertoire. Restaurants serve items named after the characters, hand-made jewelry is inspired by the books. Even some hotel rooms are decorated with a Twilight theme.

The culmination of all things Twilight is the Forever Twilight in Forks Weekend. That takes place in mid-September every year (Sept. 14-17, 2023). It has celebrated author Stephenie Meyer, who chose this small town as the setting for her blockbuster novel, since 2007.

Today, a more sophisticated festival program includes actors playing the Cullen Coven, Jacob Black, the Volturi and others. Fans love the sessions at the lcoal Forks High School, the themed parties and movie showings.

When to Visit Forks, Washington

Hoh Rain Forest on Olympic Peninsula, Washington
Explore the Hoh Rainforest and the Olympic Peninsula’s other natural attractions when you visit Forks.

Forks is as busy as might be expected of any Pacific Northwestern getaway during summer. Yet many hotels offer deals for part of fall, during the frigid winter and the cool, damp spring that are difficult to dismiss.

We’re not talking about the autmn Forever Twilight in Forks Festival weekend, of course. (Also known as FTF, the same initials Family Travel Forum goes by!) It’s very popular event so hotels are at a premium.

Once you’ve got a place to stay, plan an itinerary of things to see and do with stops at places of exceptional natural beauty.

Twilight Hotels in Forks – a Few Options

Twilight themed hotel room at Pacific Inn, Forks, Washington
Love this “Twilight” themed hotel room at the Pacific Inn? At my first visit, I stayed here!

For a truly inspired visit, the Pacific Inn Motel offers Twilight Hotel Rooms among many other simple motel rooms. Rooms equipped with flat screen TVs, WiFi, minifridges and microwaves are decorated with the most dedicated fan in mind. Non-themed rooms start less expensive. Note that all are booked way in advance.

For any team-Jacob fans out there, Quileute Oceanside Resort allows you to experience the tribe and history that define Jacob.  Not only will you be right in the heart of La Push where Jacob and Bella became friends. You will also be surrounded by the natural beauty of the Pacific coastline and over 1,000 years of Native-American culture. Checkout the official First Beach webcam for current views. This resort, operated by the Quileute tribes, has 33 oceanfront cabins, two oceanfront motel units and 10 camper cabins. All units feature full kitchens or mini-kitchens; rates range from $175 to $390 per night. Tent sites start at $30; click for the 2023 Quileute Oceanside Resort rate sheet. You won’t waste your time on social media here. There are strict rules against video / audio recordings of Native American cultural ceremonies, no WiFi — no TV either.

The Forks Chamber of Commerce offers a few other Twilight-themed options and stays current with what’s available. The Forks website highlights a few of them.

Olympic National Park Is Another Authentic Place to Stay

Carved by over 60 glaciers, Olympic National Park and the region are truly spectacular landscapes. There are other seasonal hotel savings packages that are a bit farther away. However, you get to check out the scenic Olympic Peninsula.

All year, seniors and AAA members take 10% off room costs at the lakeside Lake Quinault Lodge. Nice cozy rooms are available with fireplaces. Did you know that in 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt had lunch in what became the Roosevelt Dining Room? Within the year, he had signed a bill creating Olympic National Park. Today, it’s considered one of the region’s best eateries.

Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort has hot spring pools just steps from the front door. The setting, surrounded by forested peaks, is very romantic. Ask about seasonal special where hot springs admission is free. There are other savings at the full service, lakefront Lake Crescent Lodge in fall and winter. During summers, the rustic Log Cabin Resort is very busy but it doesn’t hurt to check the website. Visit Olympic National Park for reservations and specials.

Twilight Making You Hungry? Dining a la Twilight in Forks, Washington

After a long day of touring the town, visit a local restaurant for some delicious Twilight-inspired cuisine.  You can visit Bella Italia where Bella and Edward had their first date. Order the same mushroom ravioli as Bella, now named for her. The restaurant boasts authentic Italian cuisine so everything is tasty. Bella Italia is located in Port Angeles, near the Black Ball ferry to Victoria.

Do you remember the scene when Bella had dinner with her father in the diner? It’s the classic Sully’s Burgers and they welcome fans with the “Bella Burger.”  Located in Forks, the drive-in also serves ice cream, chicken and pizza.

It’s hard to pass up such tempting deals!  If you truly are a Twilight fan, don’t miss out on all that Forks, Washington has to offer.
