Media Alert:  FTF Scholarship Encourages Teen Bloggers To Share Travel Tales

Students Explore the Teen Travel Experience in 9th Annual Merit Competition for College Grants

(New York, NY – August 11, 2015) Family Travel Forum, the award-winning resource for family vacation planners, announces its 9th annual FTF Teen Travel Writing Scholarship. The merit scholarship, given in association with the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW), asks teens to share their travel experiences in words and images.

The top three winners will receive cash grants ($1,000, $500, $250), and the work of 20 Honorable Mention nominees will be rewarded with travel gifts. All of the top travel blogs are posted on Family Travel Forum’s site MyFamilyTravels.com.

“Family Travel Forum is so proud to support the work of young bloggers with scholarships and grants,” says editor Fran Falkin. “It’s a fun way to practice critical literacy skills, and we know sharing their work in our online community inspires the next generation of world travelers.”

The merit scholarship contest is open to students ages 13 to 18 who are enrolled in a junior high, high school or homeschool program in the United States, Canada or American school abroad. Students are asked to submit a maximum 600-word essay on any type or any aspect of a trip they have taken in the last five years, along with a photo or video.
