On May 2nd, 2007, my parents and I had to embark on a journey that I thought that I would never have to live through for a second time. To get this party started I should back up a couple of years to give you some important information. About two years ago, my mother was checked into a rehab in Scotts Valley, California, called the Camp Recovery Center.
She was checked into that place for thirty days for drugs and alcohol. The voyage that my parents and I made wasn’t to take my mother back there. Unfortunately, it was to take me.
I have been on probation for a little over a year now for getting into an altercation with my father. Events from my life let me to decide to use drugs and alcohol. I never thought that I had a problem but when I can home drunk one night my parents thought otherwise.
They believed that I had a problem and that’s when they decided that I had a problem and I needed help. So they decided to check me into the Camp Recovery Center where my mother had previously attended. When my family was taking my mother there I never really noticed my surroundings.
But when I was being sent that, for some reason, I took in everything around me. I noticed the cars, the trees, the scenery, everything. I thought that everything up until the marshes was beautiful.
I thought that driving through Salinas was the best part. It I had to go on another road trip I would pick this one, but for different and more positive reasons.
