My Vacation Experience - My Family Travels

I have been on a lot of vacations. When I was about 12-years-old, we had went to Ohio. It was the first time me and my family had went to Cedar Point and I had a blast. My brother Andre loves rollercoasters. There was one particular ride I don’t remember the name of, but Andre was in one car by himself and my dad and I was in another.

It looked like an octopus and it had start going different directions and I was getting dizzy. I felt sick to my stomach. When we got off my mom had looked at me and said I looked very dizzy. Being a brother, Andre was making fun of me I didn’t appreciate it at all. We were there for about five days and during the rest of trip, we had so much fun.

Washington D.C. was one of best places that I have gone to. I went in the eighth grade and in order to go we had to do a lot of fund-raising to go. I remember it like it was yesterday. It was about 30 of us, including the parents and teachers. We went to Pennsylvania the first day. There we had breakfast at an old style restaurant. The food wasn’t all that good. Then, we went to two museums, including the Gettysburg Museum and the field, it was beautiful and very peaceful.

We had finally got to West Virginia and we had went to so many different places. We definitely went to a lot of museums the rest of the week. Just to name some places that we had went to was The Hard Rock Cafe. I know this weird, but their orange juice was good and their bathroom was like Hollywood with the velvet rope and everything.

Each night for dinner, we had somewhere different. We stayed at the Sheraton Hotel and I was in love with their beds. They felt so good ! We went from the Lincoln Memorial to the Vietnam Wall and we saw the flame to be in memory of the soldiers. When we had reached the Washington Memorial where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech. My grandmother was there when he gave ‘I have a Dream’ speech.

We also went to the Smithsonian Museum. It was different from all of the other museums that we had went to on the trip. I was with Mr. Barga, one of the teachers, and some other classmates. We got lost in the museum because it was so huge, but it was fun though.

On our last night before we go back home we went to this restaurant where we was going to watch the play ‘Cats’. A dinner and a play was good and weird at the same time. That was on of the best trips that we had went on as a class.

Another family trip was Chicago our first time going was fun and exciting. It was just my mother, father and me. We had stayed in the Congress Hotel which is located in downtown Chicago. My dad had picked a good hotel because it was across from this beautiful park. We were literally drown the street from the Navy Pier.

For people who never been to Chicago, they have Beer Fest there and then boardwalk has some restaurants. You can also rent a boat to go out on the river. At the top it was this Carnival with whole stuff to do, you take the trolley and go to destination to destination on the double decker is where they show you all around Chicago. I saw where Oprah stays at. She had a nice pent house, but of course we didn’t go inside.

My experience in Chicago was crazy. It was my first time taking a cabahd they were all crazy like in that game ‘Crazy Taxi.’ Walking on the streets, you have to walk fast or you would literally get run over because they don’t care. The park that I was talking about earlier, inside they had this beautiful water fountain at night and it turned different colors, jazz music and fireworks. They also had this little cafe where you can get something to snack on while you’re enjoying the show.

It was a very beautiful experience even though I was kind of nervous because everything was in a fast pace, something I wasn’t use to. When we went the second time I had gotten use to it, we had went down to Dave and Busters. It was fun and we got some good food, too. My father and I was playing most of the games, but my mom did also and I won some good items.

The both times we went to Chicago, we had taken the train and it was so much fun. Each trip that I had went on I either had fun and or learned new things.
