My Trip To Yellowstone | My Family Travels

This summer, my mom told me we were going and vacation and I could not wait. Then she told me that we were going to be taking a 22-hour road trip to Wyoming to see Yellowstone National Park. All my excitement came to a crashing end.

The last thing a 17-year-old wants to do it goes see trees in the middle of nowhere. We drove about 12 hours the day we left and we stayed in a hotel that night. The following night we arrived at the house that we were going to be renting.

When I saw this house I was happy. Even if we were in the middle of nowhere at least I had my own room and hot tub. We were staying at a nearby ski resort called Big Sky in Montana.

The next morning we left for the National Park. When we got there all I saw were trees and I thought, ‘great I sat in a car for 22 hours to look at trees, that I can see at home’. I was unaware of the breathtaking beauty of were I was.The minute we left the entrance gate, the breathtaking experiences began.

The first thing we saw was a heard of elk. The were so cute and we got to get out of the car and take pictures. Then we visited geysers, and to this day I think about them all the time.

How can the ground shoot out hot water like that? My favorite one was Old Faithful, this geyser erupted every 30-90 minutes and it shot up 200 feet. We also visited hot springs this is just water in the most beautiful colors with smoke rising out of it. It was the most beautiful thing I ever saw.

Along with sites we also saw black bears and brown bears and bison. We took 3-10 mile hikes every day and saw beautiful canyons and water falls, along with flowers and trees. All in all I think that this vacation that I really did not want to go to turned out to be the best vacation I have ever taken.

I have never seen such beautiful things in my life and I am really glad that I went.
