Half The U.S. In 3 Weeks - My Family Travels

In August of 2005 my family and I, took a trip around the U.S. in less than three weeks.

I would say that it was the highlight of my whole life. We left from San Diego, California on August 3, 2005, and went through 26 different states. When we began, we went thru Nevada to Arizona, and in Arizona it was so hot, I mean the temperature as I remember was something between 90-100 degrees.

We had the A/C on the whole time. In Arizona our tire literally blew up, because it was so hit, and so we had to go to a gas station; we literally took the car a mile or two with no tire, and we had the gestation put a new tire on it, and the car was a rental van we had rented. Any ways we than proceeded and than after a while, it was night time, and I mean out of no where this thunderstorm came, and the car was actually rocking back and forth, we were so terrified, but my dad just kept driving, he drive the whole time.

Than it was really dark and we couldn’t see anything on the road, so my dad pulled over at a motel, and we lodged their for the night. We woke up in the morning and went straight on our way thru New Mexico, and than in Texas. We stayed at one of my dad’s friend’s houses for a few hours and had lunch with him; they hadn’t seen each other for a while.

We than left, and went thru Louisiana and Mississippi, than to Alabama, and than to our destination, Grandma’s house in Georgia. We stayed at her hours for one week. In that one week my uncles took use to a camping place in Tennessee, we stayed their for two days, and than left back for Georgia.

We said good by’s and than left straight thru North and South Carolina. From their we went to Virginia, Delaware, New Jersey and than to Washington. We actually got to go and see the white hours, and the Abraham Lincoln statue, it was a memorable site.

My dad even took us to Niagara Falls in New York, and we even got to go to Canada to see my aunt. Than after staying their for some nights, we went to Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, and Missouri. Than from their we went to Kansas, Colorado, where we slept at my mom’s cousins house for a few nights.

The were very happy to see each other, they hadn’t seen each other for many years. Than after Colorado we went to Arizona, and than we actually slept a night in Las Vegas, and we had so much fun seeing the Magic shows, and all the scenery. We arrived back in San Diego, California, and we were very happy to be home.

We shot over 75 hours of video. I am now working on it, and I am trying to get together a very nice DVD of our adventures. This travel meant a lot to me, and I really got to get a feel for that family pride of ours. I now know that family means a lot to me.
