My make*a*wish experience all started in 2006.  I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, or bone cancer.  I went through chemo treatment for a year and a half.  About six months after I finished, I went on my Make*a*Wish trip to Disneyland in California.  I wanted to go there ever since I was a little girl.  I did not want to experience what I went through to go there but I knew I would never get to go any other way.
My family and I were in California for a week.  It was so much fun!  My little sister and I loved the rides especially the water rides!  Along with going to Disneyland, we also went to Disney’s California Adventure Park, Hollywood Studios, and Knott’s Berry Farm.  It was our first family vacation out of state.  At Disneyland we rode all the rides we could.  We had V.I.P passes so we could get in the front of all the lines. The park was so big that we did not get to see the whole thing.  We also got to take pictures with Disney characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and many more.  At night we could see the fireworks from our hotel’s pool area at Disneyland.
At Disney’s California Adventure Park we also rode rides.  We watched a parade here too.  It was the Disney Pixar Parade.  In our hotel room we could see the rides at the park.  There was a big ride shaped like an orange we could see from our hotel room.
At Hollywood Studios we took a tour of all the movies that have been filmed there.  They showed us the sets of famous western films and other movies.  They showed us Jaws,  the hotel in the movie Psycho, and the set where War of the Worlds was filmed.  The tour was really neat and I would love to go back and see it again.
At Knott’s Berry Farm we did not stay long.  The rides were too big and I did not want to hurt myself.  I did however order a huge cinnamon roll.  It was so big I could not eat all of it.  My family and I wanted to ride the bumper cars but once we got in line they broke down.  We were so disappointed.
The best thing about going on this trip was spending time with my family.  It was a blast!  It was a good family vacation we all needed after what we have been through the past year and a half.
