Two summers ago I went to the Bahamas with my two best friends and our parents. It was a wonderful experience. We took a Carnival Cruise from Florida and were soon on our way. It was most defiantly a trip I will never forget.
The second we walked on the boat we were lost. It took us awhile to find our way. Finally once we found our rooms we came to discover a tiny room half the size of mine at home. The second we put our bags down we were bombarded and told to put on our lifejackets for a drill. Now this was a sight to see! The jackets swallowed us whole!
After this drill we were exploring the boat. It was amazing. There was always some kind of contest going on. People really get into things when on vacation! There was actually a manly man contest for the men. This was absolutely hilarious. There were men beating their chests and yelling like Tarzan to prove they were manly.
A last we made it to the Bahamas. It was amazing. The atmosphere was filled with laughter. The streets were filled with the vendors selling souvenirs. The first adventure I accomplished was snorkeling even though I am terrified of deep water. It was one of the best experiences of my life to accomplish a fear. It was a lot of fun, besides the saltwater in my mouth from when I breathed wrong.
Another experience was shopping from the vendors. It was very interesting to be able to compromise prices down. They sold things from t-shirts to magnets to Bahamian homemade things. I actually bought a skirt made by a Bahamian woman. The designs were beautiful.
The Bahamian cruise was one of the best experiences of my life. It’s something I will never forget. It was amazing to see a new culture.
