“Whew…sixteen hours on that plane…I’m so tired mom. When are we going to get to the hotel?”

As excited as I was about finally arriving in Singapore, the jet lag was really sinking in. Having just finished my first year of high school, I was excited to take a break from it all. Singapore looked like a fantastic new place to visit and I was thrilled to see the pink dolphins that pushed the limits of my imagination. After taking a nap in the beautiful Furama Riverfront hotel, we ventured off to Dolphin Lagoon. Wanting to explore we took the MRT, or Mass Rapid System Train.

A little tip if you go over there, don’t chew gum. Having it is even illegal and can get you jail time. This warning came courtesy of our tour guide who gave us a short summary of how basic life was over there. We first reached Sentosa Island and reveled in the nature or the island. From there we went to Dolphin Lagoon where we awaited the much-anticipated show of the pink dolphins.

Getting there was no walk in the park though; some advice, make sure that you know which bus you are supposed to take and double-check to see if it is the right one. Otherwise, you might end up on the other side with no knowledge of how to get back.

In addition, wear a lot of sunscreen and lightweight clothes or you will definitely return home sun burnt and be uncomfortable for the rest of the day. However, the second problem is easy to solve, as there are many different stores all around that offer great products at irresistible prices.

Aside from the heat, the show was spectacular and definitely worth the sweltering rays of the sun.

Turns out those dolphins really are pink, just not in the way I had expected, and getting there early got us the best seats. Planning events out made it easier and being ready for adventure open to new things was what made the trip memorable and electrifying.
