Paris, France - My Family Travels

I had never dreamed I would have the chance to go to Paris, France but I did.  My French class planned this trip, it was made open, so any students or parents that wanted to come could.  There were twenty-three people that went, including my great aunt and my grandmother. I don’t believe I had ever been so excited for one week in my entire life.    The airline we went on was Lufthansa, which is a Germany airline.  I would recommend this airline to everyone, they made the trip enjoyable. The food on the plane was wonderful, which surprised me very much.

Our group, had a tour guide that was with us the whole week we were there. April is a beautiful time of year to visit this city. The first place we went to visit was The Notre Dame. It was very busy because it was the day before Easter Sunday. Notre Dame is one of a kind. Then our tour guide took us on the Metro (subway). The Metro can be very confusing and is very crowded during rush hour.  On Easter Sunday we visited Chateau De Versailles, which was the most amazing mansion you could ever imagine.
The Eiffel Tower was next, the line to go to the top is very long, but completely worth it. The view from the top is spectacular, you can see the whole city and far beyond. I thought that the Eiffel Tower would be huge but to actually stand there and look up at it was amazing how large it really is. To think that the French were going to tear it down because they didn’t like the look of it after it was built and now it is the second most visited place in the world is crazy.
We also visited The Louvre Museum where we saw The Mona Lisa.  My friends and I spent a couple of hours in the museum and then we went and sat in the park and relaxed. Paris has the most amazing parks I have ever seen. Everyone who lives in Paris has small apartments without yards, which is very different from where I live. Due to the fact no one has yards , there are parks throughout the city for people to go to and relax outdoor.
Food in France is amazing. It is that simple. Their pastries are to die for. I thought Bob Evan’s had great crepes but they do not even compare to French crepes. Lunch was my favorite meal though. Every day I was there I would have a sandwich for lunch. Their sandwiches are so simple, yet delicious.  I ordered ham and cheese on a French baguette.
One of my favorite experiences of the whole trip was the river boat cruise. We went on the river boast cruise at night when the whole city is lit up. That is when you will understand why Paris is called the City of Lights.  The boat cruise lasts about a half an hour and you travel down the La Seine River. It was amazing to watch the Eiffel Tower light up.
There is one thing I must warn everyone before traveling. Leave your valuables at home. This applies to all cities I’m sure. The safe in my hotel room was broken.  My room mate and I went and told the front desk people but nothing was done about it.  So I hid my Ipod in my luggage but that didn’t stop them from going through my stuff to take it.  It is not worth the hassle.
