Little Family Vacation - My Family Travels

The day I found out that my family would be going on a little vacation I was so excited. I was even more excited when I found out we would be going to the city of Superior in Wisconsin and the cities of Duluth and Two Harbors in Minnesota. We had not been to these cities in about five or six years. I was surprised that we did not go there more often, after all my dad was born in Duluth.

We were making a trip up there for my great aunt’s birthday party. Most of the people from my family that were going up there were all staying at the Island View Resort, which was where the party was. So we decided to stay in one of the cabins for the night. I was looking forward to this weekend so much, because we do not get to see my dad’s side of the family very often and now I would get to see them.

The first day that we were there, my brother and I both told my dad that we wished we lived up there. We thought that Duluth and Superior were both beautiful cities. There was so much to see and experience while you are there. They are places where you can just go to and never be bored, and always find something to do.

That night we had the party, and I met many family members that I had never met before. It was so nice just to be with family and talk to everyone. We ended up having a fire and about twenty of us went and sat down by the fire and talked for a couple of hours. The best part was that you could see beautiful Lake Superior from where we were sitting. It was amazing to see that people that have never met each other before can sit there and talk for hours.

I learned many things from this little vacation that I went on. I learned that family is the most important thing in your life. No matter what your family will always be there for you. Whether you just need someone to talk to or you have a question. You need to stay close to your family because in the end they will always be there for you. When I returned from this trip I realized how much I changed. I learned not to take things for granted, no matter what it is. I learned that no matter where you are or who you are with, you can have fun. I realized that every once in a while you need to take time for yourself and just think about everything. When I was on this vacation I had time to think about my life. Whether it was my past, present, or future, I thought about it all. Since I have returned, I have learned to appreciate everything more, especially my family. I now know that I can go to my family for anything and know they are not going to judge me. They are just going to try to do their best to help me.
