The Big Move - My Family Travels

It all started when my father found a job in Coral Springs, Fl. What was the first reaction you may ask? Well it was plenty of excitement and joy until it started to settle in my head. How will my friends feel? How will my boyfriend feel? How will I live without my older sisters? Those were all the panicking thoughts that went in circles around my head. People thought I was crazy for worrying, I mean come on it was the luxurious Florida. But home to me was always Right here in Dayton, Ohio where I went to school and had snowball fights with my friends and family in the winter. Then got the official news to months later, we were moving to Florida by August 6, 2008. When August sixth came I was sweating bullets and nauseous beyond all measure. My family said our “see ya laters” and headed on down the road to the south. While our 26 hour journey began I started to cry thinking of my family and friend s and how my life was before the subject of moving to Florida came about. I thought about the time when my father took me and my siblings to museum every saturday, even though to some it may not be a big deal but to me all I ever wanted to do was spend time with my best friend VaNae who also happened to be my sister 3 years older than me. Those were the best days of my life I always thought, but my mom kept telling me that I will have more of those days to come. I tried to make myself sleep the whole time we were on the road but not only was it physically impossible for me it also was super uncomfortable trying to lay down in a mini van filled with valuables and little creatures who were called my sisters and brother.  We drove throught Kentucky, Tennesee, Goregia, and we finally arrived in Florida on the morning of the August the eighth. The house was beautiful with a two car garage, a jacuzzi hot tube bath in the master bedroom with  his and her sinks, and showers. The house also had new appliances, 4 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms. The place was a very nice house but it never will it feel like home. The next morning I woke up with swollen eyes and a stuffy nose from crying the previous nights, I woke up to a blazing hot sun and the breakfast cooking down stairs. i went out side to see how it was there, it was like looking in a vacation brochure, there were palm trees everywhere some with fruit on it and some had flowers, there were little geicos all over the place like the insurance company, bright blue skies and new friendly faces of every color and every nationality. i thought to myself that Florida wasn’t that bad. A couple weeks later I started school at J.P taravella home of the Trojans, The school was HUGE it was like Ohio State University only bigger.  new hairstyles and different outfits, I was very uniqe.School was really fun and had me doing Finding my classes weren’t as difficult as I thought it would be because I made friends who could show me around. When I got home from school I realized that Florida wasn’t home but Home away from Home.
