My head is buried in my hands; I’m scared to even move a muscle. I’m thinking that I will never make it my life is over. My mom is rubbing my back saying, “Everything will be ok,” while my dad just stares at me. I hate flying it is the worst thing ever; we are flying to Las Vegas for my spring break. I thought it would be a good idea right up until the plane took off.
We were just going to see the sights, and see what was so great about the city that never sleeps. I was a sophomore at the time so I thought there would be nothing for me to do boy was I wrong Vegas had a lot in store for the Moore family.
The flight was terrible from the little girl behind me kicking my seat to the turbulent landing in Vegas. But once I saw those lights especially the one shining from the top of the pyramid, so bright it looked like a signal to aliens that it was ok to land there. Stepping off the plane, I thought I was safe and that the danger was over. I was wrong
We walked into a crowd full of young adults fresh out of college ready to go crazy! That was not so bad compared to the fact the our luggage was lost. Meaning no money for rental car, hotel, or change of clothes. Luckily a relative called that lives in Vegas asking if everything was ok. We told him the situation and he quickly drove over and picked us up and gave us a place to stay.
Once everything calmed down, we gathered our thoughts and called the airline, they had found our bags and were sending them by messenger to our relative’s house. The next day, all I could think about was that plane ride back home. Not something I was looking forward to, but I had to make the most of the situation. After all, that’s what my parents taught me, roll with life’s punches and that’s what I did for the rest of the trip
We went out everyday for two weeks, seeing anything and everything. My favorite was when we went to some mall that was huge. There was a part where the employees were statues and stood still for hours at a time, it was amazing. I didn’t even realize that they were real people until I saw one blink. All in all the trip was the best I ever had even though it started off rough in the end I learned to just take what the world gave me and make t fun.
