My name is Nayely Figueroa, my family doesn’t usually go out on trips, but when we do, the trips end up being really good ones. One of the trips I will never forget is the trip to Mulege Baja California Sur, Mexico with my parents and my cousin.

On the way to Mulege my dad had told me that it was going to take two entire days for us to get there (when in reality it was only going to take about eight hours), so I decided to go to sleep for a few hours, since we had woken up really early that morning. When I woke up, my dad told me that I had slept for almost the two entire days and were almost arriving to Mulege. I couldn’t believe it, I had slept for almost two entire days, at least that’s what they made me think, but later on they told me the truth.

When we finally arrived, we were all very hungry so we decided to go look for food first and then register in the hotel. We walked for almost two hours looking for a place to eat, but all the restaurants were closed. Fortunately after walking one more block we found a fonda, which is a house were home made food is sold. After eating we went back and registered in Hotel Serenidad. When we got our rooms, my cousin and I decided to go in the pool, but to our misfortune a storm initiated and we were unable to get in the pool. We really thought things couldn’t get worst and that we were going to have some horrible vacations. We didn’t have any other choice but to stay in our rooms and either go to sleep or play something.

The worst was expected from everyone when we woke up the next day, but to our surprise the sky had cleared up and the sun was brighter than ever. My cousin and I were so excited that we ran into our room to put on our bathing suits, we spend half of the day in the pool, and then got out to eat something. We were ready to walk for an hour or more in order for us to find something to eat, but what we found out was that during the weekends the restaurants were closed and on weekdays they were reopened, instead of taking us one hour to find something to eat, it only took us about fifteen minutes. After eating we went back to the hotel and my cousin and I went back in the pool. We stayed in the pool the rest of the day. We didn’t get out until eleven o’clock at night, when we got out our hands and feet were really wrinkled, they looked as if we had the hands and feet of an older person.

The next day was my birthday and my parents decided to take me to the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen, Playa El Requeson. The water was really clear and blue, when you first stepped in you could see the little fishes swimming around close to your feet. It was in that same beach were my cousin and I learned how to swim in deep waters.

The trip to Mulege ended up being one of the most wonderful trips I can remember. It went from starting with no food and a storm to ending with a really bright sun and being able to be in the pool and learning how to swim in the beach.
