My Travel Experience | My Family Travels

In the summer of 2008, I traveled on a cruise to Cozumel, Mexico with my friend’s family. My sister was also invited. As soon as I she asked me I was happy. I started to pack but I really didn’t know what to bring because I never got on a cruise before. I was scared when they told me I had to get on a plane but as long as I was with my sister I was fine.

First, we took a plane to Miami, Florida. Upon arriving in Miami, we boarded the Carnival Imagination Cruise and headed for Mexico. We stopped in Key West, Florida and had a blast. There were lots of things to do like going to museums, shopping, visiting a marines’ station and more.

Next, we left Key West and headed for Mexico. After a very long ride, we finally arrived in Cozumel. From the ships deck, I could see the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. I breathed in the fresh ocean air. Then, we got on a small Xcaret boat and headed to a beach/park called Xcaret Eco-Archaeological Park. I got to see different types of housing, cars, buses, and stores. We only spent one day in Mexico but had an exciting time.

On the ship it was fun. There was an all you can eat buffet, teen club, adult club, kids club, entertaining room, spa center, two whirlpools, five hot tubs, an exercise room, a mini-hospital, two fun waterslides, sun decks, miniature golf, a fine arts area, and a casino. I really enjoyed myself but most of all, I enjoyed Captain Cruise Night. Captain Cruise Night is a celebration for the captain of the cruise. Everyone was invited into the dining room to eat and the employees put on an excellent performance for us. They performed the song by the Village People-“Y.M.C.A.”

My friends and I went to the pools, game room, and the teen club. The teen club was called Club 02. This was the hangout spot for teens. I stayed in the Ocean View room with my friends. I also won a full facial & body spa! I made lots of friends on the cruise and I would love to go back on one again.
