When you hear the word vacation you might think of many things. Some might think of a family vacation or a vacation with friends, the ideal vacation is also an open field.
When you hear the word vacation you might think of many things. Some might think of a family vacation or a vacation with friends, the ideal vacation is also an open field. Some might vacation to warmer weather locations or some may prefer a colder climate. My ideal vacation would be to a warmer climate, like Florida or Hawaii, with my family and best friend. I have experienced a few vacations. A few bad experiences but most of them have good memories.
A good vacation that I like to recall is my vacation to Madison Wisconsin for the National 4-H Dairy Conference. This was not a family vacation or a vacation with friends; I went as a Minnesota 4-H delegate. I started my vacation by driving 4 hours to Minneapolis Minnesota. I do have to say that it is a boring drive by yourself. Once in Minneapolis I found my way to the University of Minnesota where I met up with the rest of my group going to the conference. Then it was off to Madison, Wisconsin. While in Madison we stayed in a hotel on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
During the week I spent in Madison, Wisconsin I gathered up and learned a lot about the world of dairy, which is something that I am very interested in. Everyday we had to attend different seminars related to the dairy field. Also during the week we got the chance to check out some of the top dairies in Wisconsin, along with ABS, NASCO and other dairy related businesses. The best part of the week for me was visiting the large dairies and getting into The World Dairy Expo. The World Dairy Expo is filled with booths of information on dairy products. There are also very expensive cows in all seven breeds of dairy cows. There are also constant dairy shows going on in the coliseum at the Expo. It is a really fun place to go and I would highly recommend it if you are interested in dairy agriculture. I learned a lot of new information during that week I spent in Madison Wisconsin; I brought all the information home and relayed it to my employer, family and friends.
While most vacations are taken with family or friends, sometimes you go on vacation and make new friends. Some of those friends I still talk to. Going to Madison, Wisconsin was an unforgettable experience for me. It was filled with very interesting things that I like to do. If I have the chance to attend The World Dairy Expo again I would go without hesitation.
