I went to Guatemala for the second time August 12-26. I went with my church youth group and some youth leaders. I had went the previous August and it changed my life. I didn’t really know what to expect the second year. The plan was to do a SST[Season of Service and Training] where we got our hearts prepared for what God had in store for us the following week because the second week we were to go to a village and minister. God did some pretty radical things the first week, I felt SO close to Him, it was incredible. I got to know some amazing people down there that helped me through the first week. The second week was pretty amazing too. The first day we were in San Miguel [ the village ] we went to a soccer field and started praying for the area and we were told by God that it was going to rain but let me tell you that it was dry, blue skies, and did not look like it was gonna rain whatsoever but God promised us it was going to. An hour after we kept fervently praying the rain came and it was downpouring, it was soooooo cool. It changed my life. I now have a huge passion for the Guatemalans and just the country in general. The main reason it changed my life was because it made me realize that we have SO much here in America and we are unsatisfied and down there they have almost nothing and they are happy.
