College Tour | My Family Travels

This past spring break I went on a college tour. Now before I went on the tour I was 100% sure about the collegeIi wanted to atttend. I had it set in my mind that New York was the place for me and Juilliard was the school for me. The excitement immediately set in when we left Chicago and bagan a 14 hour trip. We visted the colleges Hampton University, Norfolk University, Howard University, NYU, Morgan University, Princeton University, and Rutgers University. Most of these schools I had never even heard of. But the experience bought a whole new perspective to my life and where I saw myself in the future. I believe college is a very important step for all young adults to take. I am going to college to better my life and be the best I can be at my talent. At first visiting the colleges gave me an unsure feeling which I did not like. I was so sure about where I wanted to go and how I thought my education would play out, but visiting these colleges gave me options. Now though this is good, it kind of scared me because options means I have more choices and more schools pulling me away from my dream school. But I began to really like some of the insitutions I saw. For example Princeton University and Morgan State University both had excellent aspects to them that grabbed my attention immediately. By the end of the trip I was very excited for my future. I had not only seen what college life was like, but it had broadened my horizons and gave me great options about my career.  After coming home from this trip I looked back and reflected on my time spent at these different places. I have come to see that having choices is not a bad thing. In life you will have many choices to make, and I believe college is one of the most important. And since it is such an important one you should have options. This trip was a excellent way to spend my spring break, and a excellent experience for me to have. I am looking forward to my future, and sure it will be a bright one.
