My Very First Laughlin Trip - My Family Travels
I was about 13 years old when I took my very first river trip to Laughlin. My mom’s friend invited us to her annual family trip that they take every summer. We left on a hot Sunday night it was 3 hour drive and I was set to go. Richard had a computer and we watched movies and played video games all the way there. As I was just about to fall asleep I start to see some bright light over the hill. Dick yells “were here!” I wake up as fast as ever and see all the hotels and the long river bed. We pull into the Don Laughlin Hotel, as I get out of the car I grab my entire luggage its super humid outside, but it feels great! We walk up to our rooms and get ready for bed because tomorrow is our very first day out on the lake. We wake up the next morning by the phone ringing its 8:00 and Donna is calling us to say we need to wake up and start getting ready. We all get in the car and head over to the lake its about 6 miles down. As we get there we unload the boat and the sea-doos, after we park the car we all hope in the boat and the sea-doos and we are on our way. As we start to go we wait until we pass the FLAT WAKE sign then were on our way. We start to go and we get faster, and faster, and faster I get this adrenaline rush that I have never felt before. Everyone is listening to music and having a good time I knew this was going to be a time that I will never forget. As were going down through the river we look for a cove to settle down in and have some lunch. We find the perfect one right in the corner, take out the BBQ and cook some hotdogs and hamburgers. As were all sitting down eating I thought to myself this is the best family summer vacation I’ve ever had and I will never forget my first trip to Laughlin.
