Last summer our parents had surprised us with a two week trip to Hawaii. When we were set to go on our plane, it had been delayed. We didn’t leave the airport until noon. Once we landed in Honolulu, Hawaii we checked in for our rental car. Once we got our car we were on our way to Astons Waikiki Hotel. We were late for our check in so we got a low hotel level. It was level seven. I remember because it was one story higher than the pool. By the end of the day we moved into a level 31 room.
This is the view from our hotel room. The first day we just relaxed. Although, my sister and I urged our parents to take us out to the beach. Since it was only a five minute walking distance. Once we got to Waikiki Beach we took off our clothes and slipped off our shoes. We had our bathing suits under our clothes. We jumped into the warm, salty, sea water of Hawaii. We raced each other to the wall that was in the ocean. If you look close enough you can see the wall in the picture. We jumped off of it. I ended up cutting my toe against something. I never figured out what it was. I also lost a bracelet I had just bought.
Once we were done with the beach we were walking on the strip of Honolulu’s Waikiki’s street. It was absolutely amazing. So many colors. The sky’s sunset colors were shinning colors I had never seen. Not even here in California! It was breath taking.
When coming back from our two mile walk we decided to eat at the restaurant near our hotel. It was called Tikis Grill & Bar. The food was good. After this we were tired out and ready to go to bed. When we got to the hotel we just went to our own rooms and fell asleep. We woke up earlier though, Hawaii’s time is three hours earlier than ours. So when I usually wake up at eight in the morning in California I am really waking up at five in Hawaii.
The next day we decided to go to Hanauma Bay. It was sensational and just jaw dropping beautiful. The bay was absolutely miraculous. Hawaii’s beaches are indescribable. I remember that day so wonderfully. We were with my grandma and we went out to snorkel. While we were out my grandmothers bathing suit was going down. She did not notice that one of her breast’s were hanging out and she was swimming around like that for at least 15 minutes until my younger sister, Haley, told her.
After this long day I was completely worn out. So I got out of the water, took out my towel and went near the bushes and under a palm tree and fell asleep. It was tremendous falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. When I woke up I was ready for more adventure. To this day I absolutely adore Hawaii and I would love to visit there and just have some more phenomenal experiences like that again.
