Beauty. Twice a year me and my family visit my grandparents in Arizona and in Reno Nevada. we usally take the same roads to and fro, but on one unusal trip back from nevanda, we took a new route. a very beautiful route. instead of driving through miles of desert and highways, we took a side trip through the extraordinary mountians of mammoth. the fresh air and incredable sights where enough to make anybody forget about their worries and apperciate the beauty of life.
Usally during road trips the only time any of us get out of the car is for occasional bathroom breaks and food stops. but not this time. the beauty was to capataving to stay in the car.
The first place we stoped at was a waterfall. it was gorgeous. there was a thick log that stretched from one side to the other resting at the bottom of the fall which is where we were at. one by one we all took turns crossing over. we all made it across except for my sister who was 15 at the time. she fell in. good thing we had extra clothes in the car. then we all stood on the log and took a picture in order from oldest to youngest. everybody left their electronics behind in the car except for the cameras that captured the beauty, but the beauty was to strong to be captured in a photo.
After a few good moments of visting the breath taking waterfall we drove around and obsereved some of natures beauties in the general area. we came across the San Andres fault. The fault line is approxamently 810 miles long. the nature surronding it is amazing. We took a walk through the trees and messed around in them as well. my brother who was 13 then, acted like he was bigfoot and we all took pictures in a uniquley shapped hallow tree.
The last place we stoped at was twin lakes. we debated wether or not to just enjoy the view or rent a boat. we decided on the boat. it was scary for me at first because i had a fear of water but i soon got over it after my dad let us all take turns driving the boat. we came across some very pretty places while on our water journey. one of them was a little house that was covered in plants. it was slightly creepy but pretty as well.
Nature is beautiful. I learned alot from that once in a lifetime drive home from nevada. people take the simple things for granted i think that if we all go for a drive to somewhere beautiful and leave all our electronics behind, we would all learn a lesson from mother nature.
