June 28th I left for my desired Make-A-Wish vacation to Washington with my family. I landed in Seattle and stayed in a grand hotel for the first day that my family normally never would have been able to afford. Walking around Seattle was amazing, seeing all the tall buildings that I don’t get to see in my short buildings city. That first night we had a dinner reservation at the Space Nettle’s Sky City Restaurant that the Make-A-Wish program paid for me. The food was delicious and the view from the full windowed circular room was even better than seeing the city from the ground. After we finished eating the manager met with us and took pictures, and they gave me a bag full of souvenirs from the store below.
The second day we went on a long drive into Forks. I went on my first ferry ride that we had to go on to get there. After the ride we drove for a long time in search of the city Forks and our cabin that was in La Push that we were told we were staying in. We ended up getting lost for a while but we found our beach side cabin that we would be using for the next three days. Both Forks and La Push were small but it was an exciting trip.
In Forks during the week we traveled the streets looking into the stores and eating the great food, almost all named after the Twilight Saga books and movies. I even found out that I had been put in the paper that I chose to go to Forks for my Make-A-Wish. One of the days the company Dazzled by Twilight took me on one of their tours for Twilight through the town. The bus driver was hilarious and I got to see a lot of cool things on the tour, making it a lot of fun. I also got to meet their look-a-likes to Alice, Bella and Jacob who were are very nice and made my trip all the more better. Each look-a-like gave me an item that had to do with twilight, and after the tour the owner of Dazzled by Twilight gave me a big bag of items from her store. After the tour I got the privilege to go to The Lodge In Forks, which Dazzled by Twilight paid for as well as the rest of my trip, and for that night it became my restaurant and I could do whatever I wanted in it, including hang in the kitchen and learn how to put chicken strips and fries on a plate.
In La Push, where my cabin was, it was beautiful. We stayed on First Beach which had small rocks and huge washed up trees in the soft sand and small rocky islands right off the shore. On one of our free days we hiked to Second Beach which was even more beautiful than first. We had to climb over a mountain with huge trees everywhere and so much green and once we got over to the other side we were presented with Second beach. It was peaceful and quiet with only the waves crashing on the sand as noise. There was also a huge rock with trees on top of it that laid right at the water’s edge that we could climb on. As well as all the beauty I got to see my first stream coming from a mountain into the ocean which was very cold. La Push was a very gorgeous and relaxing place to stay.
After the three days were up we traveled back to Seattle and we got to see the movie Eclipse in IMAX. It was my first IMAX showing and the movie was awesome. Together the Make-A-Wish foundation and Dazzled by Twilight made my vacation to Seattle, Forks, and La Push the most amazing vacation I have ever been on and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
