This year my family and I have gone to the wonderful world of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. We stayed for a week of our school’s Spring Break and had so much fun! It was a little rocky at first, the long ride, the stops, and the anticipation of getting there. Even though it was a long ride, it was a great road trip all-in-all. Exploring the states of Georgia and Florida was not bad at all, either.
Packing that night wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. I tried on many different outfits before choosing; lucky me I found the right ones. I had to find out what the weather would be like in Florida before I choose what to put in my suitcase. My sister and brother had the same dilemma. After picking out clothes and choosing movies for the trip, we finally loaded up the car and took off. My sister and my younger step brother sat together, which was a bad idea because he bothered her the whole way. My brother and I sat in the very back seat off the truck and listened to music until we fell asleep. I woke up a couple of times to check out the scenery and see which state we were in. It was beautiful that day; I remember it so clearly. Our first stop was in Georgia at a gas station. I really didn’t want to get out of the car because my legs were asleep and I was still tired. The good thing that came out of the stop was that we were able to get snacks. I don’t know why, but I tried to be brave and try a new type of Gatorade. Let me tell you: best thing ever. I guess trying new things can lead to a better day because it sure woke me up.
An hour later we were in Florida. I’m sure that everyone was just as excited as I was. I loved looking at the beach, and the way the sun was shining that day made the city of Orlando look beautiful. Our next stop was the stunning West Gate Resort hotels: twin hotels that both have pools and gorgeous rooms. The first thought I had when we got there was wow! We went up the elevator to the sixteenth floor. When we made it there, we saw a large window that had a view of Disney World. It was very pretty. That same night we went out to the pool, meet new friends, and took some pictures.
The next day, we went to Universal Studios. We were already picking out the rides that we were going to get on first. My mama suggested that we ride the Shrek 4-D adventure. We next rode the Jimmy Neutron Nicktoon Blast, the Rip Ride Rockit rollercoaster, the Revenge of the Mummy, JAWS, Twister, all during that afternoon. Later that evening, we rode the Simpsons ride, E.T Adventure, MEN IN BLACK, the Revenge of the Mummy over and over, and the Rip Ride Rockit rollercoaster one more time before we left.
The rest of the week we stayed at the hotel, swam, played arcade games, and hung out with our friends. I can honestly say that I can’t wait to go back. Hopefully you will take a trip there with your family and have as much fun as I did.
