I love the Unknown - My Family Travels

Three summers ago I had the opportunity to go to France with my school, to participate in a friendly sports competition against other catholic schools around the world. Since the same moment we arrived at Lyon I was amazed by the beauty of the city, it was just gorgeous. Good things do come in small packages; small streets, small cars, but such a gorgeous city. My favorite part of Lyon was Vieux Lyon, which means Old Lyon. The oldest part of the city was as if it came to live from a history book, buildings made out of hard rock, just as the streets too. The structure of the city made it look so modern, but at the same time medieval. The drowning scent of coffee around the corner of every street, and of course the delicious crepes. The little street markets looked as a photograph you could find in the internet, fruits and vegetables of every size, color and form. I even discovered some new fruits that I never knew existed. The noise and smells were almost intoxicating, in a good way, the way that makes you want to explore more and more, figure out what everything is. It makes you want to just stay there and stare at the scenario, it makes you want to soak everything up, because for French people this is just a normal day for getting their groceries ut for me this is almost an art.

A week later we traveled to Paris, the city of love and glamour. This place was magical, with so much history and culture around it, that it was suffocating; I just wanted to learn more about every single thing. The majestic Notre Dame Cathedral looks a little bit different in person than how it looks in the Disney movie. The Triumphal Act, the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre this city is not surrounded by history, the whole city itself is history. So much to look, so much to learn. Going to Paris really expanded my view of things, of history, of life. It really made me realize that even though the world can seem small many times, there is so much out there for me to discover. There is a world out there so different from what I know, a world of places, food and people completely different from what I know and from each other, and totally interesting because of this same reason. I thought I would never be able to experience such thing, but thanks to the endless effort of my parents I was able to have this life changing experience. This trip puts, traveling around the world, as one of my main priorities in life, something that I must do for myself. I do not need; I do not want to know everything about a place before visiting it, I want to go to discover it myself, for the love of the unknown.
