It was the middle of April and we had all left our homes at 7 P.M. and before we knew it, the sun had set. Soon, we had left our home behind us and we were off to an exciting new place that I had never seen. We didn't arrive in New York City until morning. We traveled on the bus all night. The excitement and uncomfortable chairs made it quite difficult to get some sleep. http://www.trinitytransportation.com/images/main/c3.jpg
After getting a nights "not so rest", we arrived in New York, New York and it was amazing! The skyscrapers disappeared into the sky and there were people everywhere. There were many restaurants and stores. The first thing we did was go to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. At the museum, there were wax figures of many famous actors, artists, political figures, and sports stars. http://www.madametussauds.com/NewYork/
For dinner, we went to Ellen's Stardust diner, home of the singing waiters and waitresses. While everyone ate, the employees entertained us by singing popular music and dancing. The diner's purpose is to help its employees at the diner get to Broadway someday. http://ellensstardustdiner.com/
Our next destination was the Top of the Rock. The Top of the Rock is a 67 story high skyscraper that gives a beautiful view of the cityscape. Using the elevators we got to the top and we saw practically all of NYC. It was somewhat scary to be up so high but it was well worth seeing the view of the city. http://www.topoftherocknyc.com/
After that we got back to the hotel, took our luggage to our rooms, and got ready for the next day, we went to sleep. We had to get enough sleep for the busy day ahead of us! When we woke up, we got ready and took our bus to Central Park. It was just like the movies! They had bicyclists, boat races, musicians, and statues. http://hiltongardeninn1.hilton.com/en_US/gi/index.do
After going to Central Park we went to Times Square and went shopping at a lot of souvenir shops. I went to the Toys R Us store which has the famous 3 story tall Ferris Wheel. After that I went to the Hard Rock Cafe Gift Shop and bought a cool pair of drum sticks! The next day we got on a boat to the Statue of Liberty. It was crazy and the wind was blowing so hard! It was so cold and my jacket was wet from when it rained in Times Square so I didn't have anything warm to wear.
After the Statue of Liberty we went sight seeing and saw the 9/11 memorials. We also walked down Wall Street. After that we went to the Pier and looked at all the clothes shops and checked out all the boats. Then we found this music store that sold Asian pop music.
My trip to New York City inspired me and I hope to live there one day. I saw things I had never experienced before and I would like to visit it again soon. I will never forget this awesome trip with my friends. It was well worth the bus ride to get there!
