Boats. The vessels of my fears. - My Family Travels

Boats. Not my favorite place to be,espically spending the night on one. The waves crashing on the sides, the boat moving back and forth, and no way to get off.  Now don't get me wrong it was a big ferry boat, but something just didn't feel right about this boat other then the fact it is one of my bigest fears.

About 3 years ago I went on a EF tour to Italy and Greece. I went with 26 of my friend. We were having the once in a life time trip. Everything was going amazingly untill, the boat. To travel from Italy to Greece we had to take a ferry boat over. My stomach dropped. I hate boats. My excitement level for this boat ride was about zero, but my excitement level for Greece was about 150, so I got on the boat.

When we got on the tour director told us the rules for the boat and directions for the next day. The one rule that stuck in my head was 'don't let anyone in'. I was wondering why would they think anyone would let a random stranger into their room. What the tour director told our group was that many people didn't have rooms and often try and break into rooms to have a place to sleep. My stomach droped for the second time that day.

Once we ate dinner, got our luggage, got our room keys and headed up stairs. When got into our room my roommates and I started to relaxe when one of my roomates noticed that her bed sheets we messed up, like someone been sitting there, but none of us have. Another stange thing was the bathroom had water all inside, but none of us had used the shower.

That's when all of a sudden the door to our room open. In the door way a ver dirty scary man claming to staying in our room. My stomach drop again. That's when all the pieces feel into place. The scary Greek man had been in our room.Thankful one of my roommates got the man out of our room and our teachers got him to find a new room. I had never been so happy to have my friends at that moment. But we were still scared that someone else would come in so we put all of our luggage in front of the door so that no one else could come in.

Thank goodness the rest of the trip was perfect after that.
