During the fall of 2008 a severe hurricane started coming towards Houston, Texas so we had to evacute. Me and my brother got our things, our cat, our dog and their items while my mom and dad loaded the car. We didn"t know where we were going to go my dad just decided to evacute to the pan handle of Texas.

It took us 4 days to get there along with the occasional stops for food, sleep, and letting the animals out. By the fourth day of our seemingly endless long trip I woke up to the sunrise and saw on either sides of the road these two huge Mountains that looked like someone cut it in half to put a road. The insides were beautiful they had tiny crystal pieces in every inch, all glowing red and orange with the sunrise. This mountain was beautiful as well as long and high. If you looked up you would notice houses on the top of them and they lasted on the road for 15 minutes. By the time we reached the end of this mountain we saw a quite country street with only a hotel. We stayed at that hotel,it's called Quality Inn. Right outside the limits of the hotel was a beautiful forest and they had a swimming pool. We stayed already for nearly a week and saw on the news the huricane never went to Houston. We decided we would just stay another wek because of how beauitful it was.

That was our family's first vacation out of city, and my first time away from houston.
