Family-Friendly Resorts in Cape Cod

Cape Cod is a haven for family vacations, boasting a plethora of resorts that cater to every age and interest. Cape Cod delivers a perfect blend of relaxation and fun for families with its pristine beaches, charming towns, and variety of activities.

Whether you’re looking for a resort with extensive kids’ programs, pools with water slides, or proximity to kid-friendly attractions, you’ll find a wide range of options to choose from.

350 Quaker Road
Cape Cod
North Falmouth, MA 02556
800/225-3110
Situated right along the calm shoreline of Buzzard’s Bay, The Seacrest Beach Hotel offers spectacular sunset views. It’s known for its casual atmosphere, suitable for families looking for a down-to-earth getaway.  The hotel boasts 263 guestrooms, both indoor and outdoor saline pools and an oceanview dining room. Special here is the tween room complete with arcade games and a “mocktail” station.

Parents can lounge on the white sand beach and enjoy chair-side service. Peace of mind comes with, as little ones splash around in the tame and shallow waters of the crystal clear bay.  If your family enjoys a more active vacation style, beach cruisers can be rented right next door. Biking (or walking) the scenic trailways a stone’s throw from the hotel is a perfect way to explore the region. Remember, this resort is ideal whether you’re visiting during summer or in the equally lovely, and more affordable, fall season.

When it comes to dinner, the family-friendly Red’s is the casual dining option offering kid-approved favorites like pizza and burgers.  For those wanting to sample some of the famed local cuisine, try the delectable clam chowder or the buttery lobster roll!

If you’re looking for additional dining options during your stay, historic Falmouth, where families can find anything from Indian to Italian along Main Street, is just a convenient 10-minute drive away.  The Seacrest offers special discounted off-season packages; check out their website for some great values.

Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club, Brewster

2907 Main Street
Route 6A
Brewster, MA 02631
508/896-9000
Ocean Edge hugs a bluff above the Cape’s north shore just east of Brewster. Boasting more than 400 manicured acres, it’s one of the largest and best beach and golf clubs in New England. They have a self-proclaimed commitment to “creating nostalgic childhood memories.” To do it, the Ocean Edge staff works with non-golfers to provide various free family activities in summer.

Plan ahead for sand sculpting, guided beach walks, hair braiding with beads, and face painting. Active families love the facilities for tennis, golf and biking. Their traditional beach bonfire is complete with marshmallows for toasting.

Ocean Edge Resort doesn’t just cater to adults seeking relaxation and golf. They’ve thoughtfully designed a fantastic drop-off Kids Program to keep your little ones engaged and excited throughout your stay. This program is perfect for parents who want to enjoy some couple time or simply allow their kids to have some supervised fun.

For a detailed schedule of activities and to book your child’s spot in the program, check out the Kids Program information on the Ocean Edge website.

Cape Codder Resort & Spa, Hyannis

1225 Iyannough Road
Route 132 & Bearse’s Way
Hyannis, MA 02601
508/771-3000
This small and popular resort is located mid-Cape on the south coast facing Nantucket, just outside the celebrated beach town of Hyannis. Guests at the Cape Codder will particularly enjoy the benefits of having an 8,200-square-foot indoor wave pool at their disposal. Equipped with two waterslides, two saunas, and a whirlpool, you can hit the water regardless of weather or season. Families with preschoolers will also appreciate the well-maintained outdoor playground with climbing structures.

Older kids can try tennis, the extensive fitness facilities, badminton, and volleyball. That is, when they’re not in the Spa for youth-oriented manicures, pedicures, massages, and makeup lessons.

The resort also offers a Kid’s Activity Program, packed with field games, ballooning, face painting, pirate portraits, and crafts just to name a few. Plan to stay up late for fun-filled evenings around the bonfire. Later, there’s watching kid-friendly movies to allow kids to recover from their busy day and prepare for the next. (See site for pricing and schedule.) Rooms range from two-bedded standards to spacious loft suites sleeping five.

Shore Road
Chatham, Cape Cod, MA 02633

800/527-4884
Chatham Bars Inn was voted “Reader’s Pick for Favorite Family Program” by Parenting. It’s located on a landmarked National Trust oceanfront estate. Chatham, New England’s “grand” resort, has a historic main lodge and 25 charming Cape Cod-style cottages, many with fireplaces. Spacious spa suites have even more room for the family as well as jacuzzi tubs.

Readers’ reactions have ranged from “posh” to “musty” with positive accord about the well trained and friendly staff. We’ll call it the posh Chatham Bars Inn because it offers complimentary children’s programs daily from mid-June through early September. Kids age 4 years up to teens can join age-specific groups either in a morning, afternoon, or evening session (details on their site.)

Lighthouse Inn, West Dennis

This pretty, very traditional Nantucket oceanfront inn is a home from home for many repeat guests. Keep in mind, however, that their each season is only mid-May to mid-October. There’s a heated pool, tennis, full-service restaurant. Lodging options come in a variety of rooms in Cape-style guest houses and cottages.

From late June through August, the family-owned Lighthouse Inn features the “InnKids” program. This offers daily supervised activities for kids aged 3 years and up, daily. They also provide a separate dining room where kids can dine and indulge in fun, supervised activities. It’s open before and after the adult evening meals.

This is truly a striking oceanfront location. Accommodations range from a shingled lodge to oceanview cottages and small garden homes in the shadow of a historic lighthouse. Choose from one-, two- and three-bedroom cottages, all with refrigerators and many with wood-burning fireplaces.

Bringing to you the most unique holidays covering the most beautiful parts of Himachal. Tirthan: Located in the Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Tirthan Valley derives its name from the Tirthan river, which winds its way through it. Tirthan Valley is one of the less-visited places which makes it more beautiful and peaceful. The natural beauty of the place is alluring enough, it gives you an offbeat destination taste without bringing you to a remote area. Some of the highlights of the trek include beautiful meadows with flowers in full bloom, glaciers feeding into the Tirthan Valley, and the views of the higher snow-clad ranges

Hello! It looks very interesting, great post, thanks. I used to play paintball a lot myself. But now is the time that you need to spend a lot of time at home. During a pandemic, it is important not to stop and sit still, but to study something, read, write articles or blogs. I recommend a useful resource in my profile with very sensitive material that requires due attention, which will be relevant to you, go ahead and study the pros and cons of gun control, and think for yourself over this issue and the problem in general. Good luck to everyone and health!
