My girlfriend and I are looking to drive from San Francisco to Boston(the greater New England area), and back. We’d love to use the drive away service to mutually help each other out! If anyone is looking for their car to be driven to or from those areas, we’d love to help. Feel free to message me for more details. Our one time limitation is that we’re hoping to get to Boston by the early July. Otherwise, the ride back to SF has no time limit. Also, to avoid lodging costs, we have no problem sleeping in the vehicle- given it has space in the back to lay down and not just reclined seats. It is a 21 hour drive from LA to DFW. I charge $10 an hour driving time based on Google maps so my driving cost is $210 plus expenses. Expenses are meals, motels, fuel, bus ticket to LA, return plane ticket back to San Diego, $60 for my wife to take me to the bus station and pick me up on my return to San Diego.
I put meals at $40 per day x 3 days=$120 but you only pay what is on the receipts.
Motels I put at $100+/- per night x 2 nights=$200+/-
I put all expenses on my credit card with the exception of the plane ticket, I ask that you put it on your credit card.

My name is Mark Dougherty. I am a driver that is very interested in being the driver for you. I have been posting here on My Family Travels as well as Craigslist. I have been trying for years to drive to Rhode Island. I have always wanted to see Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. I was born in New York and lived in Pennsylvania. I now live in San Diego County. So this is a chance to check off an item on my bucket list.
To start off I charge $10 an hour driving time base on Google maps it is a 46 hour drive from Santa Barbra to Rhode Island. My driving cost would be $460 plus expenses. Expenses are meals, motels, fuel, plane tickets, $60 for my wife to take me to the mode of transportation to get me to Santa Barbra and pick me up on my return, and $30 for a checked bag. There is Greyhound Bus from San Diego to Santa Barbra, it is a curbside drop off. The bus ticket cost is $19 based on buying today for the 4th August. It departs San Diego at 5:45 am arriving Santa Barbra at 12:05pm. A return trip from Rhode Island on Delta PVD to SAN departs Aug 9th 5:20 pm arrives San Diego 10:02 pm for $289.70 purchased today.
I have been estimating prices at $70 for motels and that is no longer real. Motel 6 I stayed at the other night was $109. I will still try to find the cheapest motel but they are looking in the $100+ range.Wife’s driving $60
