It is also a place for the person who may never be able to visit Israel or Jerusalem, to immerse in the culture, history and story of the Holy Land Experience.

There is something to captivate for every age level, whether you’re religious or not. The Christus Gardens, with its rare collection of antique figures, plus three additional prayer gardens, with varied foliage, provide places of relaxation and contemplation for the older crowd. There is also a Via Dolorosa, Golgotha, and a replicate of Calvary’s Garden Tomb.

For the scholarly, and those interested in antiquity, there is a scriptorium of several thousand scrolls, manuscripts, and religious artifacts. The history of the documents and the relation of the documents to world history are highlighted in the walk-through.

For those who want to follow the history of the Hebrew people through the wilderness, check-out the Wilderness Tabernacle. There is also a representation of the Great Tabernacle. Plus, after entering through the stone arched City Gate, there is a themed Jerusalem Marketplace, complete with a historically-designed water well. Finally, view the largest indoor replica model of Jerusalem in the world,and listen to the live presentation.

Don’t head out before checking The Holy Land Experience online calendar for seasonally-offered live shows. Some of these are offered at The House of Judea, which hosts children’s plays and youth services. Other activities are held at the Theater of Life, so again, it is necessary to check the schedule for full options of all that is available.

Other live activities are held at the Church of All Nations, even live television tapings. If you have a multi-age group with little ones, mom and the children can enjoy the program from the family-viewing room,while older members of the family can visit the actual auditorium. Be sure to be on time,because seating is limited after five minutes.

If you need a rest and a bite to eat, Esther’s Banquet Hall offers a full menu of specials,children’s menus, soft drinks, and deserts.Speaking of children, there is a special place called Smile of a Child Adventure Land. This is for all ages, but particularly younger children. There is rock-climbing, Mini Golf, dress-up for pictures, a live show and more.

End your day with a beautiful Crystal Living Waters light show which takes place at the Reflecting Pool, where colored lights beautifully highlight the evening sky. Group rates are available for schools or other groups that want to tour and take part in a day’s activities.
