Moving to Minnesota - My Family Travels
roadtrip

On July 2, 2007, my mom, brother, and I moved up here. My dad had some military stuff to take care of so he did not come up when we did. We came up in a Mustang. We had the trunk full of bags and suitcases. In the back seat with me, there was a cat kennel and a cat litter box so it was pretty crammed.

We sang songs and told stories all the way up from Texas. We had a lot of fun. I almost forgot to mention there were two cats and two dogs in the car with us. It was interesting. At one point in the trip, we stopped to let the dogs out to go to the restroom and when we opened the door, my cat jumped out and started running around.

I got out to get her and she would not come to me, so my brother and I had to run around the parking lot and try to catch her. We got quite a bit of attention. We were diving for her and running in circles. It was fun and hot. When we finally caught her, we were all sweaty and tired out. We jumped back in the car laughing and sweating like crazy. Needless to say, we slept for quite a while.

When we woke up, it was time to start looking for a hotel for the night. We finally found one that would accept 4 animals. We took the stuff into the room and walked around the hotel for a little while, then decided to go out to eat.

When we got back to the hotel, there was cat litter all over the floor. We knew right away who had done that. My cat was the trouble maker again.

We just sat around and watched TV for a while and then decided to go swimming. We opened the door and tried to be very careful about the animals getting out because we did not want to repeat the chase of a lifetime. Well, the cats did not get out but the dogs did and then ran right for the pool. They sniffed it for a second and then jumped right in.

It was quite a sight to see two small dogs jump in the pool and swim around. We got them out and put their leashes on and let them sit out there with us. We went to bed later on and headed back out the next morning. We got to my grandpa’s about mid-afternoon. We ate some food and I went to bed.

I have gone on many trips with my parents, but that one was the best and most entertaining. It is one of those once in a lifetime experiences.
