Last year my family took a vacation to Destin, Florida. My younger sister had brought our cousin, Jeni, who is a year older than my sister, but a year younger than me. Her parents were going through a divorce and she needed to get away.
My family travels a lot because I play travel soccer. We go to places from Kentucky to Wisconsin and my sister usually gets dragged along because she doesn’t have anyone to stay with. Well, this was our first vacation in a while without having three games in a day that my family has to watch.
We did a lot of things as a family and it was really nice because it will probably be the last vacation we take as a family before I go to college. My Mom finally got to swim with the dolphins as the rest of us sat and enjoyed how happy she looked. My dad got to build probably his last sandcastle with me, which is a tradition of ours ever since I can remember. Overall, this was my favorite vacation because it was a vacation that we wanted to take, not because they had to go.
The vacation was beautiful, not only because of the weather and the scenery, but because its one of the last times I get to spend with my family without them having to go or do something for me. We took pleanty of pictures which I am so grateful for because I have something to remember my family by everytime I get lonely. I’m so grateful for my family and that vacation because they support me with the dream I have and we got to enjoy being a family, without having to plan.
We just got to relax and get to know each other all over again.
