www.walshtribe.blogspot.com     So how many of you have ever traveled ? Im assuming most of you have, but how many of you have traveled to twelve states on a one month road trip ? Probably not to many of you. I was extremely lucky to get that chance. I traveled with my two cousins and my aunt. We took the road trip starting in Washington ending up in Alabama then coming back. On top of that i was able to see such amazing and beautiful things that I would reccomend to everyone… Take a road trip !

So where do I start ? Alright, well I found out about two months ago that my aunt was going on a road tripwith her sons Kyle and Kris (aka my cousins). She asked me if i wanted to go with them that way her and I could even out the amount of testosterone throughout the trip, of course i said yes ! No one in there right mind would have said no to an offer like that ! A month later we began our trek, not knowing where we were going or where we would end up. We had no game plan.

The trip officially began when we left Washington and entered Oregon. Oregon had a beautiful coast line as did California. We got to see the gorgious Redwoods while in California. I know trees dont seem that exciting but once you get there those thoughts tend to melt away at the sight of the gentle giants. Then came sin city ! Now its not as fun when you are under age in Las Vegas but just getting to see the lights down the strip was definitely worth it !

Grand Canyon anyone ? Yes you guessed it, thats where we went next. It was so incredibly beautiful ! I had never in my life seen anything like it ! I believe that everyone should at least at one point in their life go see the Grand Canyon. It completely changes your idea of how huge the Earth actually is. It makes it feel like there is so much more out there.

Some states we tended to just drive through. Only stopping to use the bathroom or grab a bite to eat. On our way to Mississippi we drove straight through Utah, Texas, and Louisiana. That definitely didnt make them any less stunning. We saw adorable little farms and elegant, mystic swamps all throughout. Once in Mississippi we stayed at my aunt’s dad’s house for a few days. Giving us a nice break from camp sites and hotels. During our stay we took the short drive to Dauphin Island in Alabama. Swimming in the Gulf of Mexico was so much fun ! I would do it again in a heartbeat !

We did a bunch of other things like going to Dodge City, Kansas. Where we saw a re enactment of a shootout between cowboys and a family so simulating an old time saloon. Although  a few days before we had drivin back to Louisiana to see New Orleans. While we were there you could still see the damage from hurricane Katrina. Which made us realize that it was much more devistating than just what you saw on tv. It made the whole disaster seem so much more real than it had been four years earlier when it hit.

Anxious to get home we drove straight through Oklahoma, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Idaho. Stopping occasionally. Truth be told the trip was amazing ! Although there is no place like home ! Speaking from experiance I would recommend that ever family should take a road trip. You never know what you might discover.
