Over the summer, I took a trip to Las Vegas , Nevada . This trip was significant because this was the first time that i have traveled out of state without any one of my family members. I went with my best friend Casey and his parents. I was very excited to be going because it was only the second time i have ever been to Las Vegas . The first time that I went I was only six years old so i didn’t really remember everything that happened. Our trip took place the last week of summer simply because it was the only time we could leave. My friend Casey and I had football practice basically the whole summer and this was our only time off. So we planned on enjoying ourselves and relaxing. The car ride was like watching paint dry, it took forever. But the long car ride was worth it. When we arrived, it was a scorching one hundred and ten degrees and it was very windy. I stayed at the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino on the strip. The atmosphere was jaw dropping. Thousands of people were walking all around, going from Casino to Casino enjoying themselves and having the time of their lives. Las Vegas is one of the best places to just sit down, relax and people watch. My friend Casey and I went to the mall, sat in the ice cold air conditioning, and just people watched. There are many different and unique people that vacation in Las Vegas . Some people were rushing around the mall trying to get to their next destination. While others, were just taking their time, enjoying the moment and soaking everything in. If i was old enough, I would have made bets on the baseball games that were going on at the time. It seems so fun to do that and it is an adrenaline rush not knowing if, or how much you will win. Besides the Casinos and the Malls, We also went and visited the University of Las Vegas Nevada. We didn’t get to see the whole campus, but my favorite part was when we saw the Basketball arena. I wouldn’t want to attend that college, but it was nice to see a different type of campus and the lifestyle that surrounds it. On the second of the four days we stayed there, we decided to find a bowling alley to bowl. There was only one problem: we got the wrong directions and ended up driving to the middle of no where and got lost!  We were all very frustrated, not just because we couldn’t go bowling, but because we wasted about an hour of our time driving around Las Vegas lost. It was a complete waste of time, and gas. That was the only bad part about the trip. It was fun going with my friend Casey’s family because I have known them for the last five years and they are like my second family. My last night in Las Vegas was probably the best night. I went on this huge and fast roller coaster that twisted and looped all around the various hotels on the strip. I am not a huge fan of roller coasters because when I was little I threw up on one and haven’t really gone on them since. But I got talked into going on this roller coaster and it was probably the most fun I had the whole time I was in Vegas. Overall, my trip in Las Vegas was very relaxing, it was good to get away, but I was glad to be home.
