I Traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over the past summer for a month with my sister Georgia. It meant the world to me to go. We went and spent the summer with our father, sister, brother and step-mother.  We don’t get to see them as much as we would like to so this trip was fun and exciting for us. We love being there at Myrtle Beach it is the most beautiful place to travel to especially if you love beaches like my family does. The only hard thing about going there for vacations and trips are the drives which take about eight hours or so to arrive at my dad’s house. This trip we got to do a lot of activities with our family and see the different places in South Carolina; we met some more people in our family over the summer as well as some new friends.

My sister and I have been looking forward to this trip all year long and when we finally reached his house we were so tired, worn out, as well as excited and ready to play and talk to everyone. We went and met up with our sister at her church mass for the first day to surprise her then we went home. We both went and unpacked our bags and spent the first day swimming and hanging out with our dad and siblings. Everyone was exhausted the first day but we were ready for the next day’s activities.  We all woke up and got ready for the beach and spent the day hitting some waves with the girls then came home and went swimming in the pool.

The trip was more than just swimming and hitting the beaches. We saw our aunt Kelly and cousins Gavin and Michealina as well as some new friends of ours we met. My brother’s best friends always came over and hung out with us and we all became very close. My brother’s best friend Jeffrey and I began a relationship over the summer and my sister Georgia and him are now best friends and text each other every day. We had ups and downs on the trip we got in trouble some nights by my step-mother when we woke her up playing around the house at nights but the trip was mainly exciting and fun. We did a plethora of activities and had so much fun. We had a great family bonding night when we all went to the beach and watched the fireworks on Fourth of July. That night was so beautiful and gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling since I was with my father on Fourth of July for the first time and it was just the most beautiful night.

Our trip also consisted of days shopping and spending time with our dad when he was off work to be with us. We had daddy and daughter days he and there while we were down there. One weekend we had our older brother and his wife and our niece and nephew come down to spend time with us. We all went to the arcades and ice cream shop for a night together including my brother’s friend Jeffrey. Another night just my brother and two sisters went out and saw a movie together.  Our last day consisted of everyone going to the aquarium together then back home afterwards to pack everything together and saying our goodbyes. I hate telling everyone goodbyes because I don’t like leaving everyone behind until I come back next time.

My trip was more than just spending days at the beach, shopping, hanging out, or just goofing out with the family. It was a growing experience for me and my sister. We got to bond with our father and learn about our new family and it was the biggest highlight of our summer besides the vacations and trips we take with our mother. I had a lot of fun and enjoyed every minute of playing volleyball to Marco polo in the pool with my brother, sisters, his friends, and my dad.  The trip makes me think how much I love my family and am grateful to all the people in my life whether I see them everyday or just a month out of the summer. It also shows me how much I love to be with my father and other siblings.  This summer trip was a growing experience for me as well as a fun, exciting trip to go on.
