There’s a place where all your dreams come true. A magical place where you meet all your favorite cartoon characters, see beautiful princesses wearing gorgeous gowns with their princes who are amazingly handsome, people filling all the narrow streets walking from one roller coaster to another, and so much food everywhere! Disney World is the place where you can go and just be a kid and have no worries. Every year in April, Disney World has a different meaning to it because it is a place where cheerleaders from around the world come and compete against each other to have the title of being a world champion.

We arrive to Orlando Florida with suitcases in our hands and back packs on our backs with our team who is our family, sisters, and best friends. We get to the All Star Resort Hotel making so much ruckus because we can hardly contain our excitement but we go to sleep early knowing that for the next couple of days will be the most important days of our entire cheerleading career. World’s isn’t like any other competition. While we are there we meet people from china, Taiwan, Mexico, Chile, Guatemala, British Colombia, Norway, and any other country you can possibly imagine. Pictures are being taken everywhere, and everyone is trading t-shirts, it’s an amazing experience to see people from different countries or states all come together and share memories that will never be forgotten.

As well as making new friends we also make many enemies. Our competitors who will do whatever it takes to take the World Champion title and the World’s ring away from us. When we compete we put our hearts out onto the floor, hold nothing back, and show no mercy for two minuets and thirty seconds. Sometimes things don’t work out the way they’re suppose to and the other team puts that much more heart, and has the stronger drive to win when they don’t deserve it. So when we congratulate them trying to hold back sobs we say “congratulations yall did amazing.” Then they tell us “yeah we did do amazing didn’t we?” Which makes us madder for letting them win. I take it as lesson and a drive to work harder than I have ever worked before so that team will not win again.

My whole life is about cheerleading, most people don’t understand because they don’t know what this sport is about. It’s about working together as a team; bonding so we compete as one, putting our hearts and soul onto the mat because we love what we do. The lights shine so bright that the only people you can see are your coaches jumping up and down like they’re on pogo sticks then hearing thousands of people screaming and chanting “Cheer Athletics” and “Panthers” over and over again. It’s an exhilarating experience and not that many people get to live it like I do. If you love what you do then you will never have to work a day in your life.
