New and exciting adventures are waiting around every mountain? Yes, every mountain. To be more specific, the mountains of Massanutten, Virginia. If traveling to the humble views of a majestic mountain does not satisfy your travel bug then maybe the four season resort, snow sports, golf, water park, fine dining, spa center, and shopping mall will. Stitched into the side of the Shenandoah Valley is a luxurious resort that I traveled to with my family last winter. Previously, we had been looking for a place to just get away and have fun. Massanutten provided the fun, but also a place to relax at the end of the day. After spending three days and two nights at the resort, I must say, it was a wonderful and rejuvenating experience.

Everyday in Massanutten, must start with a hearty breakfast to stack up on carbs for the eventful day ahead. Fortunately, the resort came suited with a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor patio and grill area. Down the hill from our room was the activity center that was stocked with basketball, tennis, volleyball, and racquetball courts, along with an indoor pool and arcade. Now, if you take a trip uphill you will find an outdoor arrangement of snow sports like snow boarding, skiing, and inner tubing. Of course, since this is a four season resort, they also have fun activities like golfing, hiking, and go-karting.

Nonetheless, like I said before, part of this trip was about relaxation. At the end of the day my family and I sat back in our room, popped popcorn, and watched movies late into the night. Some people might think, ‘you can watch movies at home, why do it on vacation?’, but for me vacation time is family time. It is hard to spend quality time with my family considering my parents are at work, I stay after school everyday, and often my parents are not even home when I leave for school in the morning. This vacation gave us time to slow down and enjoy each others company. Imagine, it took a mountain, but I actually enjoyed quality time with my parents.
