My trip to Europe! - My Family Travels

In the summer of 2009 it was between my junior and senior year. I was about to go on an educational tour with one of my sophomore history teachers. Mr. Garcia. He is part of EF Tours. We we set to go to Hungary, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, and Krakow. It was a 10 day trip. It was the deal of a lifetime. So i went on the trip. I met about 3 very close friends while i was on the trip. I enjoyed my time as much as possible. I loved it! we saw all sorts of historic things. For instance we went to the concentration camps Austuwitz and Birkenau. It change my life forever. I realized that our lives here in America are taken for granted. We get mad if the littlest things happen like if we have to replace our tires on a car we get upset cause it cost money. We are lucky to have jobs and money to even do those things. I knew from that point on i would try my best to not take for granted what i have and try to help all people. My visit to these camps also made me realize how cruel people can really be and how just because you believe something different than someone else that you shouldn’t be killed because of it. Those people had no chance and didn’t even know what was coming. It was wrong and someone should have stopped them! Life isn’t supposed to be like that! you shouldn’t live in fear! I took all the history that i obtained from my trip and am using it today to help me move through life. During the trip we went and saw the last part of the Berlin wall still standing. I actually convinced one of the workers that were sandblasting the grafitti art off the walls to give me a piece, of course it cost me 10 euros, but thats ok. I still have it today. I also went to the museum where the Checkpoint Charlie is located which is where people passed through from West Berlin to East Berlin. This trip has changed my life for the better. I know that not everyone gets the chance to travel but if you ever have a chance do not let it pass you! it is a life changing experience that you will never forget.
