One Magical Adventure - My Family Travels

As I grow up, I understand more and more how important it is to enjoy being young.  On our family vacation this year, we had to spend some time looking at colleges which really emphasized growing up.  To counter that, my mom took me and my sister to Disneyland and California Adventure in Anaheim, California.  We live on the east coast, but because we were in Southern California looking at colleges, we took a day off to enjoy a magical day at the two Disneyland Resorts.

We made sure to get plenty of sleep the night before because we started our day nice and early.  We also made sure to buy the tickets online to speed up the process of getting into the parks.  Once we were in, we spent no time lingering around.  My sister and I were very anxious to see as much as we could so we took a map and planned out our stops and which order to take them in.  We planned to make our way around Disneyland first, and then we would go to California Adventure to end the day seeing the World of Color.

Once stepping on Main Street I felt a wave of excitement go over me.  The world outside seemed to disappear and everyone was full of happiness.  After going on our first ride, my sister and I were already in the Disney spirit.  We wanted to try everything, go on all the rides, and see all the places.  Throughout the whole day, our entire family could not stop smiling.  We also got along the whole day with no fighting or disagreeing.  At sometime throughout the day, I became in touch with my younger self again.  I no longer cared if what people thought.  I didn’t try to act mature or make sure I looked good.  I was fine just acting myself and being happy.

One of the highlights of our trip was when we got to see Aladdin and Jasmine.  I have always loved the movie, Aladdin, and I am not ashamed to admit that I still watch it now.  When I heard where the characters would be my family and I rushed over to find them.  We waited in line amongst young children, and there I was 17 years old waiting to see Aladdin.  Although my sister was a little embarrassed for me, I was proud.  I felt safe from judgment and was enjoyed meeting my favorite characters.

We wanted to watch the World of Color show that evening at nine-o’clock, but when we went to the place where the seating was, the people working there said that we had to get passes to see it.  When we rushed over to where the passes were we saw that we could only get passes for the eleven-o’clock show.  I wish someone told us sooner that the World of color needed passes, and it was important to get them ahead of time!  It was fun waiting those extra hours before the shows because late at night there are less people which meant there were shorter rides.  We didn’t have to wait long for any ride.  When we finally got to see the world of color, it was worth it.  Seeing all your favorite movies high in the air on water was truly magical.  It was the perfect day and a perfect way to end our trip to California.  I recommend others take the time to visit!
